Alfa Romeo 155 Spare Parts (Type 167, 1992 to 1998)

With the Alfa Romeo 155 the brand ushered in a new era in 1992. As successor to the rear wheel drive Alfa 75 it switched to the transverse front wheel drive layout and used the Tipo Tre platform developed within the Fiat group. Despite this break with tradition the 155 became famous mainly through its spectacular touring car successes. A total of 195,526 examples were built at the Pomigliano d'Arco plant until early 1998. Our range covers original spare parts and carefully selected reproductions for all engine and trim variants, including the all wheel drive Q4.

The History of the Alfa Romeo 155

The body design was drawn by Ercole Spada at the I.DE.A Institute. With angular lines, a high waistline and a classic three box silhouette, the 155 visually marked the transition from the angular eighties style to the more modern design language of the nineties. The model made its debut in January 1992 in Barcelona, followed by its world public presentation at the Geneva Motor Show in March. In 1995 the 155 received a model update with wider track, faster steering rack and the designation Series 2. The successor Alfa 156 arrived in late 1997 and production of the 155 ended in early 1998.

Front Wheel Drive and the Q4 Special Case

In contrast to the Alfa 75, the 155 used a transverse engine and front wheel drive. An exception was the 155 Q4 introduced in autumn 1992 with permanent all wheel drive, three differentials including a Ferguson viscous coupling and the 2.0 litre four cylinder Lampredi turbo engine taken from the Lancia Delta HF Integrale. With 190 hp, 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h, the Q4 was the flagship of the series.

The 155 in Motorsport

The Alfa Romeo 155 became famous primarily through its touring car successes. In 1992 Alessandro Nannini and Nicola Larini comfortably won the Italian Touring Car Championship in a 155 with the Lampredi turbo four cylinder. From 1993 Alfa Romeo entered the 155 in the German Touring Car Championship DTM, fitted with the Busso V6. Larini took the championship at his first attempt. In 1996 Nannini finished third in the International Touring Car Championship ITC in a 155 V6 TI, and in 1997 Fabrizio Giovanardi won the Spanish Touring Car Championship.
